Should I remove a Bumble Bee nest?
Only if the location creates genuine safety risk — nests near doorways, in high-traffic yard areas, or in walls of frequently-used rooms. Bumble Bees are valuable pollinators and many species are in decline, so removal should be a last resort. For nests in out-of-the-way locations, the colony dies naturally in fall and the location can simply be avoided for the few months it's active. Are these Bumble Bees or Carpenter Bees damaging my house?
Carpenter Bees — they drill round 1/2-inch holes in fascia, decks, and wood trim. Bumble Bees nest in pre-existing cavities and don't excavate wood. If you're seeing round drill holes in wooden structures, the species is Carpenter Bee, not Bumble Bee. Carpenter Bees have shiny black hairless abdomens while Bumble Bees are fuzzy all over.
